Description
The 2014 Alter Ego of Chateau Palmer is a charming, smooth, round, structured and complex wine. The harvest took place from September 22nd and October 14th, in excellent conditions. This Margaux is 52% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Petit Verdot. Although it seems restrained at first, the wine is more expressive after aeration and releases the full potential of the blend. A sensation of pleasant aromatic thickness is revealed on the palate. The black fruit is generous, dense and complete. On the palate, the bold attack (the acidity lingers until finish) gives an impression of straightforwardness which remains and leads to an aromatic mid-palate with an elegant, distinguished backbone. The whole is balanced, sapid and suggests that this wine was skilfully produced. It is one of the best Alter Ego cuvee since its creation.
