Description
The 2015 Chateau Lafon Rochet wine has a very attractive, slightly floral bouquet with raspberry and crushed strawberry fruit, a touch of rose petals lending this a feminine allure. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe tannins. This Lafon Rochet wine feels quite dense in the mouth, a welcome pinch of white pepper and cedar lending complexity to the finish with tart cherries on the aftertaste. The Chateau Lafon Rochet 2015 is probably more forward than other Saint Estephe wines, but it should give 15-20 years of pleasure. Drink 2019-2034.
This Chateau Lafon-Rochet is a 4th classified growth produced in the Saint-Estephe appellation. Aged 30 years on average, the vineyard extends over a total area of 40 hectares and benefits from a terroir composed of deep gravel and gravel over clay. The vintage 2015 has a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.
