Description
The 2005 Chateau Lagrange wine has an intense bouquet with cedar and graphite infusing the black fruit, nicely controlled and focused. This Chateau Lagrange produced a joyous cabernet in 2005, with the lovely textural fatness and kindness of tannin that places it clearly in St-Julien. This Lagrange wine is medium-bodied with firm tannin, well judged acidity and a slightly reserved but delineated finish of dried herbs, cedar and a dash of white pepper sprinkled over the black fruit.
The Chateau Lagrange is a third Growth St-Julien owned by the Suntory group and comprising 270 acres situated next to Gruaud-Larose. This excellent Lagrange has to be one of the most consistently satisfying wines from the appellation. Drinking window 2019 – 2045.
The 2005 Chateau Lagrange wine blend is 46% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot with 9% Petit Verdot, picked from 21 September, and aged in 60% new casks.
