Description
The 2014 Wild Rock Red Merlot dominant blend is grown in the Gimblett Gravels Winegrowing District located on the ancient bed of the Ngaruroro River which changed course in 1867 to expose soils for possible cultivation. The Wild Rock Red Merlot has the darkest red with purple hues. Vibrant nose of cassis, violets, boysenberry and the finest toasted oak. The Merlot wine has the richness of fruit emerges on first taste with beautifully integrated oak and fine dusty tannin creating a long and delicious finish.
The 2014 Wild Rock Red Merlot is ideal with duck dishes, creamy cheeses like Brie, barbequed meats with a hint of smoke, and mushroom or green herb based pasta dishes.
