Description
The Mommessin Chardonnay wine has a beautiful golden yellow. White flowers with sweet and smooth notes. This French Chardonnay wine has an elegant, with hints of honey, vanilla and acacia.
A well-defined terroir, Beaujolais is closely identified with Gamay, which reigns supreme there. In the north, the grape variety gives way to Chardonnay when it hits the limestone soils. To the south, it fades away in front of the clay-limestone lands that surround the Lyon metropolis.
Heir to the Cluny monks, Mommessin has its origins in Southern Burgundy. In fact, it was at Grange Saint-Pierre, an old outbuilding of the Abbey of Cluny, that Jean-Marie Mommessin, the company founder, set up the business in 1865. The key of Grange Saint-Pierre later became our House’s emblem.
This 2023 Mommessin Chardonnay wine should be an elegant companion to mixed salads, grilled meats, fish and shellfish.
