The 2021 Craggy Range Rosé Gimblett Gravels Vineyard, Hawke’s Bay has a brilliant rose petal in colour. This rose wine is lifted fresh cherry and wild raspberry. The palate has a succulence that flows the whole way through. Ripe red fruit envelops the flavour profile; however, a savoury thread ensures that this complements many a first course. The 2021 Rosé Gimblett Gravels Vineyard is delicious. This rose wine has a Grape Variety of 44% Syrah, 36% Tempranillo, 20% Merlot.
Craggy Range began with the desire to create a legacy. When Terry Peabody visited New Zealand in 1997 he was introduced to Steve Smith, MW. Terry sensed an exciting possibility in New Zealand; the exceptional climate and spirit of the people aligned with his own philosophy and desire to cut a new path. He wanted to create wines that would become internationally regarded as New World classics. The two men made an important decision from the beginning – to select and source the best land in the country, and to plant the vines perfectly suited to that soil and climate. The winery – one of the most technically advanced ever built in New Zealand – is known for uncompromising standards and meticulous craftsmanship.
