The 2020 Le Petit Ducru De Ducru Beaucaillou wine is an introduction to the style of its elders, the Grand Vin of Ducru Beaucaillou and La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou. Endowed with its own style, this Saint-Julien wine presents the same attention from the team during the vegetative cycle of the vine, the same uncompromising selection and the same rigorous vinification as the other two wines of the estate.

The 2020 Le Petit Ducru de Ducru-Beaucaillou displays a beautiful, deep purple colour. The aromatic bouquet is sustained by intense aromas of red and black fruit. Scents of crushed violets are enhanced by a touch of mocha. This Le Petit Ducru de Ducru-Beaucaillou is a generous wine with a velvety texture. The expression of ripe fruits meets a vibrant acidity and the marriage between fruits and spices continues into the finish. This cuvée is impressively refined.

This 2020 Le Petit Ducru De Ducru Beaucaillou wine has a Blend of Merlot (78%), Cabernet Sauvignon (18%), and Petit Verdot (4%).

The 2016 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron wine has a deep garnet-purple color. This 2016 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron gives aromas of tar, sautéed herbs and earth over a cassis and baked cherries core. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy, finishing with an herbal lift. This wine offers classic Pauillac aromatics, and possesses a medium to full-bodied, concentrated, backward vibe that’s going to benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age.

This is closer to the signature of the grand vin than that of the Tourelles de Longueville as it comes from soil with a higher gravel content. The 2016 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron is quite powerful and dense. Aging, and specifically, the barrel regime of 18 months in oak (60% new) has left the 2016 with a heavy toast torrefaction quality that at present overpowers the dark fruit and Cabernet aromatics the wine showed from barrel.

The 2016 Les Tourelles de Longueville is a very beautiful wine. Pliant, supple and inviting, the 2016 has so much to recommend it. This Les Tourelles de Longueville wine has dark red cherry, red plum, tobacco, menthol and licorice are all laced together in this creamy, wonderfully expressive, silky Pauillac. The Tourelles will be impossible to resist young, and should drink well for another 10-15 years.
