The 2020 Tyrrell’s Old Winery Shiraz wine has deep red in colour with a bright purple rim. The 2021 Tyrrell’s Rufus Stone Heathcote Shiraz wine has a deep, youthful red purple colour. This Rufus Stone Heathcote Australian Shiraz has a rich, chocolate, spice, sweet plum and vanilla bouquet, which returns with good power and impact on the finish. The Shiraz wine is medium to full-bodied, nicely-textured and fleshy with supple tannins and easy drinkability, although it will surely age well. The oak, alcohol and tannin levels are perfectly weighted. The Rufus Stone Heathcote Shiraz wine is one of Tyrrell’s Wines top non-Hunter reds. Sourced from vineyards in Heathcote.

The story of the Rufus Stone dates back almost 1,000 years to medieval England. King William II, known as Rufus, is believed to have been killed by an errant arrow fired by Sir Walter Tyrrell – an ancestor of the Tyrrell family. Today, the site of this infamous incident is marked by the Rufus Stone. Since 1997, our top non-Hunter red wines have been named in honor of Tyrrell’s historical association with the Rufus Stone.

The vintage conditions for our Rufus Stone Heathcote Shiraz were just about perfect, with warm, dry days followed by cool nights, allowing the fruit to gain the ripe, full flavors of modern Australian Shiraz while maintaining the fresh mineral line and tension of the classic European styles.

The Tyrrell’s VAT 8 Shiraz Cabernet wine is a modern style of Australian Red that also respects the tradition of using varietal blending to make a more rounded wine. This 2019 VAT 8 Shiraz Cabernet wine shows intense plum fruit sweetness from the Shiraz with dark berry and chocolate characters. The Cabernet component adds to the length & fullness of the wine. A composed and compact red blend with a soulful mid-weight to it, this excellent wine showcases a plethora of black fruit characters as well as dark & stony mineral aromas with added whiffs of dried wood & spices. The palate boasts a core of dark cherry fruit, smooth & purposeful tannins, and incredible depth & layering of flavors.

The Tyrrell’s VAT 8 Shiraz Cabernet finishes long & strong and you can choose to enjoy this now although careful cellaring of 10 to 15 years will be rewarded with futher flavor evolutions.

The Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 has the aromas of red currants, tobacco and cedar, green stalks, coffee beans, quite mulchy and herbaceous. The palate showed blackcurrants, green beans, coffee beans, leafy eucalypt and cigar box. This Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon wine has full long flavours, pleasant fruit weight, though with a touch of greenness on the finish.

The Vasse Felix Cane Cut Semillon 2017 wine has a pale straw with a green tinge color. On the nose its fragrant notes of lemon and lime, honeysuckle, dried apricots, waxy crayon, crème brulee and sultana. This wine has a bright and zesty lime marmalade interweaves with a fine drying lemongrass texture. A driving natural acidity carries the concentrated sweetness effortlessly to a mouth-watering finish.

This wine is produced from Semillon using the Cane Cut method, where each fruiting cane is detached from the vine. The bunches are left hanging until the fruit has dried and concentrated in flavour and sugar.

The 2021 Vasse Felix Filius Cabernet Sauvignon carries the structure, power and tannins of classic cabernet in an earlier drinking, more forward style from fruit sourced from each of the Vasse Felix vineyards. This wine has a bright deep maroon with a purple tint. This Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry and coffee mocha on the nose. The palate showcases blackcurrant, raspberry and earthy complexities with fine dry dusty tannins. A comfortable, soft, juicy body and tannin profile finishes the wine fresh and long.

This 2021 Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon carries the structure, power and tannins of classic Cabernet in an earlier drinking, succulent style from fruit sourced from each of the Vasse Felix vineyards.

The 2023 Vasse Felix wine has an opaque saturated black dark red colour with very deep dark red black hue. This Vasse Felix Sauvignon Blanc Semillon wine has an aromatic profile of blackberry, dark plum, confectionary, blackpepper and spice. Flavours of ripe blackberry, plum, liquorice, blackpepper and spicy cedar characteristics on the back palate. Super fine tannin structure with very long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberry, blackpepper and spice.

The 2022 Vasse Felix Shiraz wine has a bright deep maroon color. A complex perfume of black cherry and boysenberry, underpinned with an endearing pastrami note. This shiraz wine has a beautiful notes of rose petal potpourri and Chinese black tea open to hints of English cheddar and teak wax. A luscious entrance with bright, tangy raspberry, black cherries and notes of liquorice and vanilla. The stems bring a lovely mineral sensation with a velvety tannin polish, leaving the finish fresh and dry.

The 2019 Vasse Felix Tom Cullity Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec wine opens beautifully with cherry pip, cassis, christmas cake, orange rind, pot pourri and hints of Australian forest floor. The palate is incredibly luscious, rich fruit builds into a long, fine, powdery tannin structure. Refreshing floral notes are expressed throughout the palate with lingering blackcurrant and blackberry. This wine is medium bodied, the complexity of ocean and nori influence pairs beautifully with notes of chocolate, polished leather and exotic spices. This Vasse Felix Tom Cullity Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec is an elegant, palpable and clean dry finish with earthy power and wild berry custard tart rounding out this complex palate.

The Vasse Felix, Margaret River’s founding wine estate, was established by Dr Thomas Brendan Cullity in 1967. Among his first plantings were Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec vines, from which he produced the estate’s first red wine. The Tom Cullity descends from these original vines and represents the pinnacle of Vasse Felix.

The 2019 Yalumba Samuel’s Collection Barossa Bush Vine Grenache wine is bright and jubey with spicy dark berried fruits and a savoury, meaty plum fragrance. The palate packs a juicy core of impressive density showing savoury and earthy textures and a fine grained tannin finish. This Samuel’s Collection Barossa Bush Vine Grenache wine has medium reds with purple hues.

The 2019 Yalumba Samuel’s Collection Barossa Shiraz wine has a deep red in colour with sweet, fresh and fragrant aromatics of cherries, plums and bright red-current fruits. Subtle spices and clove notes are present as are the floral hints of Viognier. The Yalumba Shiraz is a medium to full bodied wine with red fruit flavours, fine spices and cloves.

The 2018 Yalumba Signature Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz wine has a deep dark red in colour, this wine displays aromas which are dense and curranty, yet pure and bright. The nose shows lifted florals, violets and choc mints. The palate is brooding and serious with dark chocolate hazelnuts and warm generosity. The Yalumba Signature Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz wine finishes with long fine powdery tannins.

The Yalumba The Octavius Old Vine Barossa Shiraz 2016 is full depth red purple in colour. The nose shows hints of opulent plums, coffee and cedar with a crunch of dark berries and a burst of olive and aniseed. The palate displays sweet spicy fruit in the mid palate, all plump and juicy. This Shiraz is full bodied and has a melt of oozing tannins to finish.

The 2021 Yalumba Y Series Cabernet Sauvignon wine has great varietal character, showing blackcurrant, tobacco leaf, dark chocolate and a sprinkle of aniseed spice. This Yalumba Y Series Cabernet Sauvignon has a medium bodied red with dark berry flavours, savoury overtones and classical chalky tannins give the wine great length.
