The vineyards that provide grapes for the “Bure Alto”, are on average about 40 years old and are in the classical field of Valpolicella. After fermentation this Ripasso stored for 18 months in large Slovenian oak casks and then for a further 6 months in the bottle.

The Villa Girardi family estate lies in the heart of the historical Valpolicella wine region. The Bure Alto is know as the baby Amarone and is matured for 18 months in Slovenian oak barrels and then a further 6 months in bottle.

The 2016 Villa Girardi Great Rosso wine has a dark garnet color with crimson trim around the edge. The Villa Girardi is a typical Venetian Villa designed by Luigi Trezza back in the 1700s. The Villa is located in a large park with old trees surrounded by 30 hectares of vineyards with rich clay-limestone soil and a mild climate creating conditions conducive to the cultivation of indigenous Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, and Molinara grape varieties.
