This 2010 Lealtanza Artist Series Sorolla Reserva wine has a rich colour. This Spanish wine is very pleasant on the nose, where the fruity notes (especially black forest fruit) blend harmoniously with the spicy nuances as vanilla, balsamic and mineral notes; one can notice nice and elegant lactic aromas together with exquisite toasty character coming from our excellent French oak. Silky, velvety and pleasant entry; round and well-structured, its well-balanced tannins make of Lealtanza Sorolla Reserva 2010 a powerful yet elegant wine in mouth. Long aftertaste.

This Lealtanza Artist Series Sorolla Reserva wine will pair nicely with stews, red and white meat and strong-flavoured cheeses. Our chef’s suggestion: seared ahi tuna steaks.

The 2016 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron wine has a deep garnet-purple color. This 2016 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron gives aromas of tar, sautéed herbs and earth over a cassis and baked cherries core. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy, finishing with an herbal lift. This wine offers classic Pauillac aromatics, and possesses a medium to full-bodied, concentrated, backward vibe that’s going to benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age.

This is closer to the signature of the grand vin than that of the Tourelles de Longueville as it comes from soil with a higher gravel content. The 2016 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron is quite powerful and dense. Aging, and specifically, the barrel regime of 18 months in oak (60% new) has left the 2016 with a heavy toast torrefaction quality that at present overpowers the dark fruit and Cabernet aromatics the wine showed from barrel.

The 2015 Les Pagodes de Cos wine has a tightly wound bouquet with intense blackberry, bilberry, soy and tobacco aromas. This red wine from St-Estèphe feels nicely delineated, becoming earthier as it opens in the glass. The 2015 Les Pagodes de Cos wine is medium-bodied with firm, slightly rigid tannin. There is moderate depth in the mouth, quite fresh with a pleasant marine. This red wine is rich and with great aging potential, this is becoming a major wine in its own right rather than just a second wine of Cos d’Estournel. Anticipated maturity: 2019 – 2029.

The 2015 Les Pagodes de Cos wine has a blend is 46% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot.

The Les Tourelles de Longueville Pauillac 2014, was made by Pichon Longueville Baron, one of Bordeaux’s most renowned estates, Les Tourelles de Longueville is the estate’s second wine, typically made of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with small percentages of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

The second wine Tourelles de longueville is named after the turrets that embellish the Château. This 2014 Les Tourelles de Longueville wine has charming aromas of spiced red and black currants, with hints of cedar. Well textured with velvety tannins and a long finish.

The 2016 Les Tourelles de Longueville is a very beautiful wine. Pliant, supple and inviting, the 2016 has so much to recommend it. This Les Tourelles de Longueville wine has dark red cherry, red plum, tobacco, menthol and licorice are all laced together in this creamy, wonderfully expressive, silky Pauillac. The Tourelles will be impossible to resist young, and should drink well for another 10-15 years.

The 2016 Les Tourelles de Longueville wine is a blend of 58% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot (from young vines that are destined to go into the Grand Vin one day, according to Christian Seely), matured in 30% new oak for 12 months.

The Lys de Chateau Bouteilley Cotes de Bordeaux wine has an intense dark red with ruby highlights. On first pour, aromas of stewed red fruits and black cherries are exuded, enhanced by an extremely refined toasted oak note. This 2018 Lys de Chateau Bouteilley wine has a full, generous attack on the palate leading into a fresh, easy-drinking mid-palate displaying good volume. This Bordeaux red wine is driven by ripe, velvety tannins and gives an impression of natural elegance with lengthy aromatic presistency revealing more of the fruity nose aromatics.

The name Chateau Batailley refers to the Hundred Years’ War, a battle of which was fought in 1453 on the estate’s land. Château Batailley became a wine estate in the 17th century. This 5th Cru Classé in 1855 is produced in the Pauillac appellation, on Bordeaux’s Left Bank.

The Marques de Grinon Criado en Barrica wine has an intense ruby red colour. This Spanish red wine is very well balanced with good structure and fine tannins. The Criado en Barrica wine is delicious, with a predominance of sweet spice and vanilla notes from the extended oak ageing and fine red berry fruit on the long finish. The 2018 Marques de Grinon Reserva Catalunya wine has a deep ruby red colour with garnet shades and aromas of ripe fruit with salty notes. It presents very good aromatic intensity and complexity, aromas of red fruits and red fruits that are in perfect conjunction with the notes of chocolate and spices (tertiary aromas), which refer to their aging in the best wooden barrels of Brands of Grinon. The 2016 Marques de la Concordia Rioja Reserva wine has a deep ruby red with great depth of colour. This Rioja Santiago Seleccionada by Marques de la Concordia wine is a full bodied. Deeply coloured hue with an intense bouquet of ultra-ripe berry fruit. This Spanish Red wine is underlined with fine oaky nuances, spice and great depth of flavour. Perfectly balanced, concentrated and long lasting. The blend is 85% Tempranillo, 5% Syrah, 5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

This 2019 Rioja Santiago Seleccionada wine is ideal to accompany meat dishes, roasts and cheeses, it goes well with barbecued quail, pizza trays or a pasta dish with pesto.

The Tapas Tempranillo wine by Marques de la Concordia has a deep red colour with garnet hues. The nose is expressed with smoky notes, strawberry, and raspberry. This Spanish Tempranillo wine is juicy, well-balanced, soft and pleasant on the palate.

This Tapas Tempranillo is a red wine made by Berberana from the region of VT Castilla that is based on tempranillo grapes. Ideal accompaniment to lamb, poultry and cured cheeses. Best served at between 14-16°C.

The Marques de Murrieta Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial 2010 has marvelous aromas of crushed berries, tobacco, cedar and mushrooms. Some dried cheese. Then turns to flowers. Very complex. Full and intense with fantastic depth and power. It goes on for minutes. It is a wine that exudes tradition but gives a sense of modernity with precise winemaking. Two years in oak, one in concrete and three or four in bottle. Drink on release and age onwards. –

It has greatness and finesse and is a very attractive wine with all the stuffing and balance that is needed for a long (and positive) aging in bottle. This is one of the finest modern day vintages of Castillo Ygay. This is going to develop in the direction of the classical bottlings from yesteryear.

Ygay these days is a blend of Tempranilo and Mazuelo, the later making up 15% in this vintage. 2010 will be remembered in the great vineyards of Europe as a classic year, elegant restraint and wonderful harmonious balance, even in youth, its key characteristics. The Ygay fits this template perfectly; plums and sloes, hints of blueberry and cassis, then figs, cocoa and sousbois, a distinct balsamic note to underline provenance. The Mazuelo etches fresh acidity and a powerful finish, leaving the Tempranillo the opportunity to dance flamboyantly on the mid-palate, the bringer of joy and harmony. – Simon Field, Decanter

The 2011 Marques de Murrieta Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial wine has deep garnet. This Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial wine is a highly perfumed, complex bouquet evokes red and blue fruits, incense, pipe tobacco, vanilla and mocha, along with smoky mineral and spice nuances that build in the glass. Sappy, palate-staining black raspberry, cherry compote, succulent herb, candied rose and vanilla flavors show excellent depth and clarity, while a spine of juicy acidity contributes cut and structure. Shows excellent energy and detail, finishing with strong persistence, repeating florality and velvety tannins that come in late.

This 2011 Marques de Murrieta Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial wine is best paired with ateamed grouper fish, grilled squid and fine black sauce with its allied croquette. Candied and ember-roasted Bresse pigeon, Cameros truffle and red wine. Long cooked Wagyu tail in red wine, smoked eel and foie mille-feuille. Truffled Moliterno sheep’s milk cheese.

The Marques de Murrieta Reserva 2017 is a traditional Rioja wine crafted in the classic Murrieta signature style and enjoying all the benefits of modern winemaking philosophy, equipment and techniques. This Marques de Murrieta Reserva has incredible depth and intensity on the nose with chocolate, walnut, blackberry and wet-earth aromas. Some iodine, too. All this follows through to a full body with very silky tannins that give the wine depth and length. It’s really framed beautifully. Reserved and tight at the finish. A terrific wine for the cellar.

The red 2017 Rioja Reserva is their flagship wine, of which they produce 900,000 bottles exclusively from grapes from their 300 hectares of estate vineyards. It’s a blend of 83% Tempranillo, 9% Graciano, 6% Mazuelo (Cariñena) and 2% Garnacha and has the character of the vintage, ripe and warm but without excess.

This Marques de Murrieta Reserva wine pairs beautifully with baked red snapper with grilled vegetables in white wine, apple, lime, and rosemary, or even lamb chops with buttermilk, asparagus, and red wine. Decanting the wine for 20 minutes is recommended. Best enjoyed between 59º- 61ºF.

The 2019 Merlot del Ticino wine has a purple red color that turns to ruby red as it ages. The red wine’s aroma of ripe red fruit, spices, gentle hints of balsam. This Merlot wine has a beautiful structure, warm. With many pleasant tannins. A typical Merlot that best characterizes the soil found in Lugano’s winegrowing region. This Merlot del Ticino wine has an excellent aging potential.
