The Samuel’s Collection Yalumba Eden Valley Viognier is our pure expression of the variety. This Yalumba Eden Valley Viognier has pure aromas reminiscent of fresh apricots, ginger, saffron and fresh white flowers. The palate is long and silky with stone fruit flavours, finishing with an alluring freshness. This wine will continue to grow and develop in the bottle, firstly showing enhanced apricots and spice, then honey flavours and toast complexity. The Sanama wines are made at Château Los Boldos from a combination of estate fruit (younger vines) and from grapes that have been brought in from neighbouring growers in Cachapoal. The wines have nicely defined and clearly expressed varietal characters and are forward and ready for drinking. Víctor Arce, the new chief winemaker at Château Los Boldos, arrived at the estate in 2016 after previously working at Perez Cruz and for Paul Hobbs. His input will become increasingly apparent in these wines.
