The Allegrini Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2018 has a very deep, saturated ruby. Fresh, piercing aromas of black cherry, violet, lavender and sweet spices on the nose. Then super smooth but dense, with wonderful poise and balance to the ripe red cherry, dark berry, aromatic herb and mineral flavors.

This red wine finishes long with youthfully chewy tannins and lingering floral nuances. Concentrated but tastes much lighter and vibrant than the majority of other Amarones made today; but the young chewy, grainy tannins pick up steam on the long finish and will require patience.

The Allegrini La Grola IGT 2015 has a dark ruby garnet turning tawny orange rust at the rim with a reflective edge. The nose gives off cola and vanilla on toasted oak and anise on ripe dark berries. The palate is full bodied, creamy in texture with vibrant acidity that gives a tangy edge to the ripe raspberry, black currant-cassis, and plum core with secondary notes of espresso, tobacco, and dried oregano. This wine finishes long and silky with hints of eucalyptus menthol.

The Allegrini Palazzo Della Torre IGT 2015 is elegant and well balanced, with a good structure and aroma. Ruby red in colour with purple hues, it offers light hints of raisins, sophisticated notes of vanilla, black pepper, cloves and cinnamon. It has a long, velvety finish and soft tannins.

This is one of the wines that has made Allegrini famous throughout the world. The vineyard surrounds Villa della Torre, a splendid masterpiece of Renaissance architecture now owned by the family, and produces a full-bodied red wine that has an ageing potential of at least ten years.

The Allegrini Soave 2016 medium-intense straw yellow in colour. The Allegrini Soave’s nose reveals distinct notes of white flowers followed by fresher jasmine flowers and a crisp and delicate citrus vein. On the palate, the wine’s natural alcohol level is balanced by bright acidity and refined tannins. The 2019 Allegrini Valpolicella Superiore wine is ripe plum, blue flower and spice aromas lift out of the glass in this full-bodied red. The smooth, concentrated palate boasts a weightless elegance, delivering blackberry compote, ripe Morello cherry, licorice and baking spice framed in enveloping, velvety tannins. Drink 2022-2031.

The Allegrini Valpolicella Superiore wine is a elegant red, medium- to full-bodied and mouthwatering throughout, this layers supple, lightly chalky tannins with a pleasing range of crushed black currant, fresh thyme and minerally salt and iron notes.

The 2019 Alter Ego de Palmer wine is gorgeous rich dark purple in the glass. This Alter Ego wine has intense aromas of blackcurrants, cedar and ripe tobacco with hints of violets, following through to a full-bodied palate with extremely refined tannins that are well-integrated into the wine and are long and subtle at the finish. Such precision and harmony with structure.

This second wine of Chateau Palmer might be the richest, most concentrated second wine out here, and truthfully, it tastes like a Grand Vin. It is one of the best Alter Ego cuvee since its creation. A Margaux that should be given a long-term lease in your cellar.
