The 2020 Chain of Ponds Graves Gate Shiraz wine has the aromas of redcurrant, fresh raspberries and black olive balanced by plums, hints of mulberry and cedary spice. Lifted sweet notes of vanilla and cashews. The Shiraz has a deep cherry red with slight purple/plum hue. The palate is rich and lively displaying primary red fruits with hints of white pepper and blueberry along with good savoury supporting oak. This Graves Gate Shiraz wine is lively acid and slightly chalky tannins give savoury and textural length to the palate.

The Chain of Ponds Pilot Block Shiraz 2019 has a dark Cherry Red with brick red hue. Intense dark cherry fruits, rhubarb nuances and chocolate on the nose. The attack into the mouth gives an extraordinary sweet plushness with great dark fruits/chicory flavours supported by a fleshy mid palate sweetness that lingers.

The 2017 Charles Melton Father In Law is a delicious Barossa Shiraz, a real fruit driven style which will appeal to lovers of big “ballsie” reds. Perfect for the next family gathering. Sweet spicy almost Christmas plum pudding scent, rich and warm. Full but not overly big, showing the typical bit of Clare Valley linear structure in contrast to the Father in Law’s, shall we say, less linear profile.

The 2018 Chateau Tanunda Terroirs of Barossa Marananga Shiraz wine of the Barossa reflects the slate and granite soils with strong mineral notes, and fruit flavours of blackberry, morello cherry. The Chateau Tanunda Three Graces wine is a classic Bordeaux style blend of the worlds three most noble varieties. This Chateau Tanunda Three Graces is a classic lifted nose of blackcurrant cassis and cedar wood with hints of black olive, pepper, violets and tobacco.

The palate is an integrated blend of flavours, svelte and seamless showing prominent blackcurrant fruit delicately interwoven with tobacco leaf, capsicum, black pepper and savoury French oak giving the wine an undeniable elegance and generous length.

The grapes for the Three Graces are selected from premium vineyards in the Barossa and Eden Valleys. Delivered in small bins the grapes are destemmed and fermented in small format stainless steel open fermenters.The must is hand plunged twice daily, with fermetation complete over of 7 days on skins at 22 – 28° C.

The 2021 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon wine by Di Giorgio Family has a herby, cassis aroma that is typical of Cabernet in this part of the world. In the mouth, there’s good concentration of sweet plum and black fruit flavours, with sweet spices and a fragrant vanilla and wood lift. This Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon wine has violet notes come through on the pleasant finish. A more elegant style of Cabernet Sauvignon that will match well with a variety of dishes.

This 2021 vintage saw moderate yields combined with a mild summer and consequently long, slow ripening season, perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon. This enabled us to produce wines of beautiful fruit with typical Coonawarra elegance and balance. The softening effect of traditional open top fermentation, and the maturity of the vineyards have given this wine great mouth feel. It is ready to consume now, though it’s Coonawarra pedigree suggests that it will drink well, if cellared in good conditions, for at least 8-10 years.

The Di Giorgio Wines is a small family owned & operated winery in the heart of Coonawarra. Their winery is the 2nd oldest in the region with vines planted as early as 1963 on prime, shallow Terra Rossa soil in their 13.5 hectare property.
