Scents of crushed violets are enhanced by a touch of mocha. This Le Petit Ducru de Ducru-Beaucaillou is a generous wine with a velvety texture. The expression of ripe fruits meets a vibrant acidity and the marriage between fruits and spices continues into the finish. This cuvée is impressively refined.

Aging, and specifically, the barrel regime of 18 months in oak (60% new) has left the 2016 with a heavy toast torrefaction quality that at present overpowers the dark fruit and Cabernet aromatics the wine showed from barrel.
