    The 2020 Odfjell Armador Cabernet Sauvignon wine has a ruby color with hints of violets.     The project of Norwegian ship merchant Dan Odfjell, Odfjell Estate is a result of a family endeavor combining a passion for wine and horses which ultimately led them to invest in Chile. The wines are handled by French winemaker Arnaud Hereu and their focus is on mainly red wines from their Maipo Valley Estate, Old Vine Malbec from Lontue in Curico, and Old Vine Carignan from Maule.

    The winery is tucked into the hillsides of their Maipo vineyards and works on a gravity system with a portion of the winery submerged underground. The vineyards are managed biodynamically & organically using sustainable farming techniques.

    This delicious Carmenère, a variety rediscovered in Chile, is made with Odfjell’s best grapes, grown both in Padre Hurtado and Maule.

    The 2020 Odfjell Orzada Carignan is an elegant mature organic wine. This Orzada Carignan wine has a deep and intense ruby color with a touch of violet. This chilean red wine displays a never ending mix of aromas such as cherry liqueur, liquorice, white fruit such as apricots, white peaches, pears and a touch of lychee. Focusing on liveliness and length, these wines are crafted from fruit selected in our organic and biodynamic vineyards in Maipo and Maule.

    Over 25 years ago, Dan Odfjell the Norwegian Armador, ship owner fell in love with a small corner of the Maipo Valley. Serendipity would later show that he had found land in Chile’s premium red wine producing valley, where vitis vinifera has been cultivated for 400 years. While most of the other top producers in Chile are working with relatively young vines, Odfjell have forged an unique reputation based on rediscovering the forgotten wealth of Chile’s winemaking past.

    This rich 2020 Orzada Carignan wine would go especially well with grilled meat or lamb.

    The 2019 Odfjell Orzada Carmenere wine has a dark red in color with purple reflections. This Carmenere wine is complex, with spices, ripe red fruits such as cherries, raspberries and plums mixed with aromas of blackberries followed by tobacco. A premium Carmenère, produced with high-quality grapes from Cauquenes, harvested much earlier than most others. The wine was aged in stainless steel tanks and cement spheres, without any use of oak, to achieve more broadness and fruit expression on the palate. A radical Carmenère, an ode to red fruits and herbs, that reflects the winery’s affinity with Maule.

    The Sanama wines come from the Santa Amalia vineyards, located on the generous alluvial soils of the Cachapoal Andes Valley.They are protected from the moderating influence of the Pacific Ocean by the coastal mountains, but the influence of the Andes ensures warm days and cool nights. This provides ideal ripening conditions for the grapes, resulting in ripe tannins and attractive perfumes.
