A deep purplish blue color is followed by a mammoth-sized bouquet of crème de cassis, dark chocolate, tobacco, and lead pencil. The 2018 Chateau Talbot wine has a rich, full-bodied, and powerful, it nevertheless stays pure, balanced, and elegant, with a beautiful finish. Its tannins are ripe and integrated, it has balancing acidity, and this is unquestionably another beautiful vintage for this estate. A great St-Julien that reflects the estate more than the vintage.

    An essential reference from the Left Bank of Bordeaux, Chateau Talbot is at the head of one of the largest vineyards in the Médoc with 102.5 hectares of vineyards planted in Médoc gravel soils.

    The 2018 Chateau Tour Pibran wine reveals an intense purple colour. The nose offers a wide aromatic range with notes of wild violet, followed by red fruit, blackcurrant, and gingerbread. This 2018 Chateau Tour Pibran wine attack is soft and elegant. The tannins are powerful and juicy. The body is fleshy and opulent, carried by a long, fresh finish. It is harmonious, with great balance between power and roundness. This superb Tour Pibran is already accessible and generous. Its very high-quality tannins also ensure that it can be kept for many years.

    The name Pibran has a long association with premium Bordeaux wines. Originaly the esate was only 10ha in the Pauillac region, in 2001 they expanded the vineyards and now cover over 17ha. This red wine is made in the state of the art winery of Pichon Baron and then matured in Chateau Pibran.

    The 2018 Chateau Tour Pibran wine is a blend of 85% Merlot 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.

This 2009 Clos du Marquis wine has a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This 2009 Clos du Marquis is a beautiful wine offering classic Saint-Julien crème de cassis fruits as well as lots of rocky minerality, cedarwood, graphite, and spring flowers. This St-Julien wine exhibits a deep ruby purple hue along with sweet notes of creme de cassis, great purity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and terrific texture as well as length. It should evolve for 20-25 years.

    The Clos du Marquis is being positioned by Jean-Hubert Delon as a separate single vineyard wine rather than Leoville Las Cases’ second wine. The logic is simple. It has come from the same vineyard for over twenty years, and is not a true second wine in the sense that it is not made from Las Cases’ discarded cuvees.

    The 2015 La Croix de Beaucaillou wine is alluring, seductive style, with mulled fig and boysenberry fruit carried by velvety structure. The 2015 La Croix de Beaucaillou has a very composed bouquet that captures the fruité of the vintage, almost lush, pure black cherries intermingling with cranberry and blueberry. There is a patina of new oak to be subsumed so it will certainly deserve three or four years in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin on the entry, cloaked by layers of slightly toasty black fruit laced with cedar, white pepper and a touch of Lapsang Souchong.

    This St-Julien wine is very harmonious with great depth while maintaining superb precision on the finish. What a superb deuxième vin. The 2015 La Croix de Beaucaillou wine is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot.
