The Tyrrell’s VAT 47 Hunter Chardonnay wine is fresh powerful, but restrained white peach style with a subtle lees influence. The nose shows delicate citrus and white stonefruit with a hint of oak and sulphide lift. The palate has the generosity of Chardonnay in a toned down form. Murray Tyrrell created the Winemaker’s Selection range back in 1965, when, with the assistance of Len Evans, he set out to determine the best wines from each vintage. He named these wines after the casks in which they were matured; for instance, the first Chardonnay we made went into cask number 47, so it became Vat 47 Chardonnay, or Pinot Chardonnay as it was then called.

On the nose a fragrant fruit perfume of white peach, yuzu and pear flan, gives way to creamy yeast lees and fragrant oak complexities which deliver almond meal, ginger nut biscuits and nougat nuances. Background notes of flint and ocean breeze reveal themselves with time. This Chardonnay is an incredible body characteristic of our Premier plots of fruit, complemented by a fresh line of acidity. This freshness is followed by an immediate broadening of the palate, harmonious and chalky, the wine is mouth coating but not heavy. This Vasse Felix Filius Chardonnay wine is complex and complete, the fragrance lingers on the finish.

The Vasse Felix Heytesbury Chardonnay 2014 wine has a pale to mid straw in colour. Pristine, vibrant fruit aromas dance in the glass. This Felix Heytesbury Chardonnay has fruit characters of nectarine, tangerine and grapefruit enveloped with roasted nuts and crème fraiche coming from malolactic fermentation and long maturation on lees in the barrel. The has a palate is crisp but also creamy with a great purity of minerals and fruit.

The Vina Ventisquero Clasico Chardonnay wine has pale golden-coloured wine with light green hues. The nose reveals aromas of papaya and mango, together with honey, vanilla and toast, from the barrel-ageing. This Ventisquero Clasico Chardonnay wine has good volume and structure, balanced acidity and a smooth finish.

Carrying on our tradition of fortified winemaking, our Yalumba Antique Muscat is a fine dessert wine that highlights the rich, raisined and luscious style of Rutherglen Muscat. This is an indulgent and seamless wine. The Yalumba Antique Muscat has rose petal, ginger spice and orange peel aromas, with butterscotch and fruitcake. The palate is soft, silken and concentrated, with rich flavours of raisined fruit, wood aged characters, fruitcake and spices.

This Yalumba Muscat wine is best enjoyed with blue cheese, crème brûlée or pecan pie and a dollop of triple cream. The wine can be served chilled. Refrigerate after opening to maintain freshness.

The 2017 Yalumba FSW Botrytis Viognier wine has aromas of intense honeysuckle, musk and vanilla with notes of lemon thyme and ginger. The palate, with high residual sugar, is long and luscious with opulent flavours of stone fruit and spice. The balance is perfect, delicately poised between sweetness and acidity with a memorable, lingering finish.
