    The 2018 Chateau Lilian Ladouys wine colour is rich and red, not as concentrated as some. This Chateau Lilian Ladouys wine has a juiciness through the palate, but also a sense of restraint and austerity. It feels ripe but not overripe, and well held together. A relatively gentle, appetising wine with a floral touch. This is a very intense Saint-Estèphe wine is cohesive and focused, though it needs just a little more finesse on the finish.

    In 2018, the Lorenzetti family purchased two neighbor estates, Château Clauzet and Château Tour de Pez, adding these to the Lilian Ladouys vineyard to almost double its planted area to 77 hectares. These additional vineyards are composed of gravelly soils of the same level as the best blocks of Lilian Ladouys. Soils are a typically Saint-Estèphe mix of sandy-gravel and clay with some limestone deposits. The blend is 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, and it has 14.41% alcohol.

Château Los Boldos occupies a 250ha site in one of Chile’s finest viticultural areas.

    The Château Los Boldos covers 250 hectares and is situated to the south of Santiago, in Chile. The vineyard is planted at the feet of the Andes, next to the village of Requinoa. The region benefits from a microclimate, which balances the differences between the daytime and nighttime temperatures. This microclimate allows a slow, long and complete ripening of the grapes. The vineyard was established in 1850 and is one of the oldest in Chili, and is planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon vines from France. The wines from the Château Los Boldos are produced exclusively using grapes grown on the oldest areas of the vineyard, from vines planted between 1936 and 1975.

The wine is an assemblage of the best Cabernet Sauvignon planted in 1948 and Merlot planted in 1959. Grapes are hand-picked and it ages for 12 months in new French oak barrels. The Sauvignon Blanc is bright and aromatic with vibrant acidity and the Chardonnay displays tropical fruit and citrus characters. The reds are aged in used French oak barrels for six months. The Merlot is well balanced with soft tannins, while the Carmenère is plush with plenty of blackberry and cassis character. The Cabernet Sauvignon has good structure with spicy blackcurrant notes.

    The Gran Reserva wines are produced from a careful selection of plots in the Cachapoal vineyards, from vines aged over 10 years old. Both wines are harvested by hand, before ageing in French oak barrels for 10 months. The Cabernet Sauvignon is defined by aromas of fresh cassis and black currant. The Carménère has a round, full structure, with notes of ripe plum and dark chocolate.
