The 2019 Chateau Mauvesin Barton is gorgeous. This Chateau Mauvesin Barton wine is a lovely acidity on the palate. The tannins are soft but they are mouth coating and really do mask a lot of what is going on right now. A big mouthful but with brightness and verve underneath. Lovely long length and good persistency and freshness.

This estate has been fully renovated and is now producing attractive wines.

The 2019 Alter Ego de Palmer wine is gorgeous rich dark purple in the glass. This Alter Ego wine has intense aromas of blackcurrants, cedar and ripe tobacco with hints of violets, following through to a full-bodied palate with extremely refined tannins that are well-integrated into the wine and are long and subtle at the finish. Such precision and harmony with structure.

This second wine of Chateau Palmer might be the richest, most concentrated second wine out here, and truthfully, it tastes like a Grand Vin. It is one of the best Alter Ego cuvee since its creation. A Margaux that should be given a long-term lease in your cellar.
