    The wonderful aromas of crushed blackberries, licorice, tar and bark follow to a full body with round, chewy tannins and fantastic depth of fruit and intensity.     The 2018 Condado de Haza 20 Aldeas wine has an intense aroma of black fruits, blackberries and a hint of dairy, with the liquorice characteristic of the Tempranillo grape variety. Followed by toasted notes such as vanilla, caramel and lightly smokey notes from the ageing process in American oak barrels. The Condado de Haza 20 Aldeas has a potent wine that is fleshy at entry, with a remarkable balance between tannins and acidity. This wine from Ribera del Duero region has a broad mouthfeel with well-rounded tannins that fill the mouth with a fruity flavour rounded o with persistent toasted notes, liquorice, coee caramel and toee. This red wine has a long-lasting, pleasant aftertaste.

    The 2019 Condado de Haza Crianza wine has a clean and brilliant with an attractive black cherry colour and purple undertones. This Condado de Haza Crianza is quite intense aromatics revealing ripe red berry and black fruits. Liquorice notes, typical of the Tempranillo variety, also come through. Sweet, roasted coffee bean aromas follow with hints of vanilla and touches of spice. A crianza which is complex and beautiful, an outstanding red wine.

    This Condado de Haza Crianza is a red wine from the Ribera del Duero region, prepared by Condado de Haza. This is a winery belonging to Familia Fernández Rivera. The Condado de Haza is the sister property to Pesquera, both planted by the pioneering Alejandro Fernandez, who died earlier this year. The vineyard was planted with tempranillo between 1986 and 1989, and it’s these mature vines that give birth to this robust red.

    The 2015 Dehesa La Granja wine by Alejandro Fernández has a mature picota cherry red colour, with an intense garnet rim and covered in layers. This Dehesa La Granja wine has subtle notes of ripe black fruit jam, combined with delicate toasted notes, which meld perfectly with subtle hints of cocoa and some balsamic hints. The Dehesa La Granja wine is powerful in the mouth, flavourful, meaty and well structured. Endowed with ripe, sweet and high-quality tannins that give it breadth and volume and fill the palate. Bursting with the aromas of ripe fruit in the middle and integrated with the flavour of exquisite wood.     This 2018 El Vinculo Crianza wine is made from a thicker-skinned variety of Tempranillo indigenous to the La Mancha region, called Cencibel. This El Vinculo Crianza has a black cherry colour with a purple rim. Clean and brilliant. The red wine is expressive, concentrated aromatics on the nose with ripe fruit such as blackberries and plums coming to the fore against a subtle backdrop of liquorice, one of Tempranillo’s typical characteristics. A wine that has body with fine-grained, well-integrated tannins. The entry is fruity and fleshy. The mid-palate is full with good volume, while the finish is long and pleasant with hints of sweet spices and toasted notes such as toffee and cocoa.

    This 2018 Federico Paternina Reserva wine has a lovely nose with vanilla, blackberries and even a hint of smoke. I also get some raspberries, milk chocolate, cherry and prunes. You can tell the oak influence from the maturation in this release, even though the wine is still fresh. Cranberries, plums and almonds complete the palate which even has some pepper from the wood spices. It’s lovely balanced and complex.

    The 2020 Finca Villacreces Pruno wine has a deep, black cherry color. Aromas of red fruit embodied with toffee oaky hints from the aging in French barrel revealing a sweety and fruity wine on the mouth. Reminiscences of ripen fruit and licorice. This Finca Villacreces Pruno wine offers a pleasant and soft aftertaste.

    The blend is mostly Tempranillo with 9% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented for three weeks and matured in French barrels for 11 months. It’s clean and quite fruit-driven, approachable and juicy, with integrated oak. Very pleasant, with very good freshness.
